This portrait of a coloured gelding by the name of 'Lego' alias The Jumping Machine was commissioned as a birthday present for his owner a Master of Hounds to remind him of one of the best hunters on whom he had led the field across country. The two pencil remarques depict him jumping a large hedge typical of the country and at a meet with hounds.
